BG-12 = Tecfidera

 

Tecfidera is an oral medication that is taken twice daily with meals – breakfast and dinner.

Tecfidera is a medication that modify the immune system providing increased anti-inflammatory effect and might provide neuroprotection.

Common side effects with Tecfidera – Gastrointestinal problems – nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort and flushing (becoming red & feeling hot).

You need to have periodic blood tests to monitor for your liver function, blood counts and electrolytes levels if you have a lot of diarrhea and vomiting.

A similar drug is approved for many years in Germany for Psoriasis.
