Interferon Beta 1a = Rebif

 

 

Rebif is injected three times weekly injected under the skin. Rebif is a high dose interferon.

Rebif works in multiple sclerosis by minimizing the movement of active immune cells who lead to pro-inflammatory effect in the brain and spinal cord.

Interferon side effects: flu like symptoms characterized by fever, chills, muscle aches, and overall feeling of malaise. Injections site reactions related to an under the skin injections are very common including redness, lumpiness, pain at the injection site and uncommonly damage to the underlined skin called necrotic response. Injections’ side effects include flu like symptoms, mood changes and systemic effects requiring blood tests – liver profile, blood counts and thyroid test.
